David Martinez was born and raised in Del Rio, being the 7th of 10 children born to the late Leonel Martinez, Sr. and the late Viola C. Martinez. David has been married for 27 years (28 in July) to Car-men H. Martinez; and has two daughters: Clarissa (age 24) and Julia (age 22). David was a Del Rio High School, class of 1982; St. Mary’s University, BBA- Finance 1986; and St. Mary’s University School of Law, JD – 1992. David is licensed as an attorney in November 1992; and elected Val Verde County Attorney in November 2020, and sworn into office on January 1, 2021.
